I’m Back!

Finally returned to write again! I have a habit of getting involved in too many things I had to let go of others.  I am definitely going to try to keep this going again.  This is a great time of year for doing so as the gardening is winding down and so is my enthusiasm for it.  Since my last posting we have a new grandson who is already 15months old and quite an interesting wee fellow.  I am so enjoying him as I have more time than when our other grandchildren were growing up. Benen is his name and he live within walking distance of our house, 17minutes to be exact.IMG_0569 So here he is going out to the swing Grandpa put up for him on our Garden Arbour.  It is temporary as they grow up so fast and a baby swing is soon too small.IMG_0614

Finally I am taking time to add to my blog. It is almost the middle of June and the gardens are doing so well. Everything is growing beautifully and we need some more sunshine for the blooms to come out more on some of the annuals. The early summer perennials love it just the way it is.
I have made a short slide show of those early summer bloomers because I coul not pick out my favourite picture. So they are all included.
Now I will need to take time to catch up with some sewing. There are so many things I want to finish or perhaps start. No, maybe I should do the finishing before starting something new. Interesting it will be as to how I handle that!

Winter Sewing! I haven't taken the time to add to my blog this winter. It has been a very cold January compared to the last few years. So I have been diligently trying to finish a few UFO'S stacked nicely in my sewing room. A couple of quilts are very near completion! Yeah. My sewing companion comes to help sometimes and I took some pictures of her trying to guide me in my quilting.

Time to Sew!

It is a beautiful November morning! The sun is making the lawn look like crystals with the overnight frost. To-day I plan to do some sewing and get caught up with all the projects on my list for Christmas and also finish a UFO. A UFO in quilt world is an "Unfinished Object" and there seems to be a few waiting around in nicely stacked plastic storage boxes. I must say I do have a couple of empty boxes and so there are at least two less UFOs.
To the left is a picture of a quilt I made for our Daughter and Son-in-law this summer. Before their wedding in August I made blocks and took them to showers for the bride. Her friends and relatives then signed the blocks with good wishes.
The Court House Steps quilt (top left) was a project we did at our Retreat this fall at camp Iawah. It will be so much fun to see the different colours of the quilts that all the other participants at the Retreat made.
The other quilt above was a block of the Month we did in our local group. Some of the blocks were quite challenging, and that was fun.
