Gardening is Fun?!??!!

Well it is almost the middle of September and we have had 1/4" or 8mm of rain this month. In august we had a total of 1" or 25mm of rain for the whole month. I find it is terribly depressing to go out and see all the leaves on the trees and shrubs curling up and blowing off the stems and branches. Taking pictures of our back yard has also been non existent. There is nothing very exciting to want to preserve on the film. The bright spot is that many perennials will return next spring! Yes, I sure hope they do. In the meantime I will chop off the dried up stems and compost them, and wait patiently for next spring to revive them once again. I do have a plan that I will read a book called "Dry Land Gardening" by Jennifer Bennett again this winter. There will definitely be some changes made in these gardens. I will be searching out the family of Sedums and plant more of those for sure.

Quilter

I started quilting about 6 years ago. A friend, with whom I was in a knitting club wanted to teach quilting. She had quilted as a young girl with her aunt and had always wanted to go back to it. She really needed us for a guinea pig I think! However there were five of us and now we are addicted, at least I am for sure.
Thanks Gail!
I no sooner finish one project then can't wait to go to another OR I put a project aside and start a new one. Naughty quilter I am. The Fall leaves quilt is a table runner. The colourful lap quilt is called "Rocky Road to Dublin" and was made for my daughter who is presently residing in the UK
The other one is "Tulips" a square table cover.

To-day I would like to introduce you to Christy, the princess of the household. She is a very sensitive knowing cat. We would really be lost without her.

Gardener

I have never written a blog before but my daughter thought I should. Little does she realize that doing this is taking me away from my sewing room! I must confess that I also enjoy doing these things on the computer. In the next few days I hope to have a few pictures up of my gardens and quilts.
